Japanese flower cards are beautiful, dainty, fun to play with, and classic. They are also extremely detailed, when it comes down to it, which is why I decided to challenge myself by completely vectorising them. The goal was to made a full set of cards that could be cut and engraved in the laser cutter which was definitely achieved. A full set of 52 cards takes around 4 hours to engrave, and even though some of the colours can be quite hard to distinguish (as the detail is entirely greyscale on wood) and the cards themselves quite clunky to play with, the vectorisation was an excellent challenge that I feel went very well.
With all these nice Hanafuda vectors lying around (and with AWDis releasing a very nice gradient t-shirt), I decided to print a few card sets onto t-shirts
